World and Nine of Cups

The World is the final card of the Major Arcana, that's why it's associated with completion and endings. It's also associated with journeys and traveling. The Nine of Cups is the symbol of emotional fulfillment. Regardless of his reputation as the "wish" card, the Nine of Cups - like all 9s- often leaves out the participation of others and focuses on the individual. That's why the Nine of Cups, in most cases, indicates situations that make us feel happy with who we are and what we have achieved. The combination of the World and the Nine of Cups could point to a happy ending.

Possible manifestations of the World and the Nine of Cups:

  • A happy ending
  • Finally feeling at ease with yourself
  • An achievement that makes us feel proud/happy/fulfilled
  • Traveling near water/by boat
  • Getting closure
  • Feeling at peace with emotions
  • A dream comes true
  • A significant personal achievement
  • Finally having everything you need
  • A self-fulfilling prophecy
  • Isolating oneself from the world
  • Feeling "whole"
  • A rainy day
  • "The world is your oyster"
  • A self-protective "shield"
  • The (satisfactory) conclusion of a cycle
  • Choosing to stay single

Elemental Dignities

The elements of the cards are Earth (the World) and Water (the Nine of Cups). Earth and Water blend well and strengthen each other, creating a stable and secure environment. There are no surprises here and everything goes according to plan. This combination can at times manifest as delays, since both elements are passive and slow, but the World and the Nine of Cups combination gives the promise of a positive outcome.
